Manoj’s Story

Hopeful Hearts Foundation partners with Christian based orphanages around the world. One orphanage we support is in Sri Lanka. Manoj has lived at this orphanage since he was 4 years old. Here is his story in his own words:

“My name is Manoj.  I was 4 years old when I came to the Boys Home.  My father was not alive and my mother had a speech impediment.  She found it difficult to find employment.   She was also unable to feed and educate me.  I had no family, but  I found mothers, fathers,  brothers and sisters when I came to FootPrints Home.  The bigger boys spoiled me as I was the baby in the home.  At the home, I had good food and good caregivers.  I was also able to go to school and when I was a bit older, as I was doing better at my studies, I was admitted to a private school where I sat for my public exams. After leaving school, I enrolled at an educational academy to follow the Higher National Diploma in Network Engineering. I am also employed in a company where I can gain experience in my field of study.   I will complete my HND in February 2024, after which I hope I can move into the third year, which is a degree course.  Since coming to the home, I have not only developed myself academically, but have also been able to attend Sunday school and church, youth camp and conventions and have given my life to Jesus and want to live to bring Him honor.  I am so blessed and if I was not here, I would not have met wonderful people like the Hopeful Hearts team.   I value their love and advice during my growing years and they still impact my life.  I will be 23 years in April.  I have aspirations for the future and one of them is to be a Network Administrator.”
