After many years of being away, Hopeful Hearts is super excited to be back helping Ukrainian orphans!
As their orphanage in Mariupol, Ukraine was bombed out, over 20 children and their caregivers made a daring three-day journey out of Ukraine to a small town in Germany, where a local church has provided a living facility to house these fantastic kids. Currently, Hopeful Hearts provides financial support to the newly established orphanage as well as sends members to assist in conducting a summer camp for the children, to give the workers some much needed rest.
Each summer Hopeful Hearts partners with other ministries to take a trip to the orphanage in Lage, Germany, running a weeklong camp for the children. We do events such as crafts, sports, and high ropes courses, all while singing praise and worship songs and learning God’s word. The children’s ages range from 9 years old to 18 years old. This is a very unique opportunity as this orphanage will most likely not receive any more children due to their unique one-time refugee status. This allows us to really get to know the kids and form deep relationships with each one.
Prayer Points
- For the war in Ukraine to come to an end.
- That the children would be able to successfully transition to adulthood, despite learning a new language and growing up in a foreign land.
- Ask God to protect civilians, children, and families who are caught in the crossfire.
- Pray that in the middle of suffering, people would encounter Jesus.
- Pray that revival and faith would spread across Ukraine and even Russia.
